Wet Electrostatic Precipitator for Waste Incineration Plants

A Wet Electrostatic Precipitator, or WESP, is widely used as a final polishing stage in waste incineration flue gas treatment. It removes fine particulate matter, acid mist, aerosols, heavy metals, and other pollutants from saturated or near-saturated flue gas, helping plants meet increasingly strict emission requirements.

Why WESP Is Suitable for Waste Incineration

Flue gas from waste incineration is typically high in moisture, corrosive, and complex in composition. It may contain PM2.5, acid gases, heavy metals, and dioxin-bound particles. A WESP is especially effective in these conditions because it uses a water film to clean the collecting electrodes instead of mechanical rapping. This avoids secondary dust release and reduces the risk of blockage caused by sticky or wet deposits.
